To Whom It May Concern,

Communities who invest in facilities capable of hosting sports tourism events are benefited in multiple ways.

Sports tourism:

Attracts athletes, family members and friends who participate in events and activities associated with the competition.

Visitors attending sporting events spend money on accommodations, meals, transportation, shopping and other local services.

This outside influx of money stimulates the local economy.

The allure of sporting events brings in visitors that otherwise may not have considered visiting the region. This increase in tourism helps diversify the tourism industry and provides additional opportunities for growth.

Brings people together, fostering a sense of community and pride among residents.

Promotes community involvement by providing volunteer opportunities.

Helps attract and retain talent by showcasing sense of place amenities to visitors.

Provides events for residents to attend and cheer on their favorite teams and support local athletes in a healthy atmosphere.

Promotes a positive and inclusive environment throughout the region.

By continuing to invest in sports tourism, the region can continue to reap benefits and solidify its position as a sports destination in Michigan.

The Midland County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Michigan's Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau support the investment being made by the Midland Soccer Club into their new 150,000 sf soccer facility. We are confident that this addition to their current operations will produce significant positive  economic impacts and returns.

Sincerely,

Annette Rummel
